Norwegian Kortfilmfestivalen accepts Iran ‘Weekend’

The Kortfilmfestivalen is to host Iranian short film ‘Weekend’.

The Kortfilmfestivalen-Norwegian Short Film Festival has slated to host Iranian short film ‘Weekend'.

Directed by Ario Motevaqe, the short will be competing at the International Short Fiction and Documentary Films section of the 43nd edition of the Norwegian event.

‘Weekend’ narrates the story of two families, Moniri and Kheradmand who go camping in a park during the weekend. Although it seems they are there to spend the end of the week holiday, it will turn out that they have other purposes.

The cast list of the flick includes Fardin Qaderi, Mostafa Latifikhah, Sahar Taherkhani, Maliheh Esfandiyari and Bardiya Shariati.

The Merits award of the IndieFEST Film Festival in the US is one of the global honors that the film has gained. It has also been well received by the audience and jury members of the Philosophical Film Festival in Macedonia.

The Kortfilmfestivalen is a film event which accepts both Norwegian and international works for its two competitive lineups. Besides, the event organizes film discussion panels, debates, workshops and seminars. On the sideline of the fest some recreational activities such as boat trips, concerts and any other programs are offered too.

Over the pandemic of coronavirus, this year’s edition of the event will hold online on June 10-14, 2020.
